We let Crystal stay up late to join in the fun

FYI..do not try this. It WILL come back to haunt you

and you will end up with a poor excuse for a home. :)

We played white elephant for one of our Christmas parties

On her first day of school, she was SO excited!

Miss Crystal had her dance recital this last week.

It was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

She listened so intensely to her teacher and was so proud to show us her fun dances.

Miss Abigail's first birthday!!

It's hard to believe that a year has passed already!

Abby loved the special treatment and attention she was given

Especially when she realized

she had a whole cake to herself :)

Here are a few things Abigail loves at one year

Her blanket.

From the moment she wakes in the morning until night, it's either in the same room or dragging along side her.

Anytime she spots it across the room, she lights up with a giggle and runs as fast as she can to it, then falls on top and lays there hugging it as though it was a long lost friend.

Music.

Anytime music is playing (which is most of the day with these girls), she's hopping her little body up and down to the beat. If I ever pause a song midway, she'll take my finger, walk me to the player, and point to it with a "ma ma ba ma"

Swinging.

Swinging High, swinging Low...she loves it all. Abby could swing for hours at the park and be the happiest little girl there.

Crystal.

Abigail makes it known that Crystal is her role model and best friend

She LOVES following her around, playing with her, and wearing anything that's Crystals.

Today I walked into the room and Abby had tried her best to put on Crystal's clothes...

I'm not going to lie...I was impressed!

Anytime Abby wakes from her nap and Crystal's still sleeping, she will walk to Crystal's door, place her ear to it and start humming. If I dont catch her in time...she quickly goes from humming, to quietly saying "cawna" (Crystal), to yelling "Cawna! hey wa wa!"

Lisa and Blaine's wedding in the Bountiful, Utah temple was absolutely amazing! We are so grateful we were able to be there to be a part of such a sacred experience. We are excited to have Blaine as a part of our family - Congrats to both of you!!

If most siblings living states apart, we were fortunate to have most of us make it, with the exception of Randy in North Dakota.

At temple square in Salt Lake City. It was the most precious, priceless moment when Crystal saw the Christus. She was Blown Away, and after standing in awe with a frozen smile for a number of minutes, we had to almost drag her away.

Hidden Secret

I hate meeting new people.

It's an honest fear of mine.

Being in a crowd of people and not knowing a single one of them,

and yet knowing that I'm going to have to eventually get to know each of them.

If only I could avoid all of them as though I was shopping at the store and they were just pass-me-by's

...but they aren't

...and I cant.

I dont know if anyone else ever feels this way.

when moving into a new home, starting a new job, getting new roommates, or in my case - the first day of school.

Yesterday was that day.. the first day of back-to-school.

...So much anxiety those first few minutes before walking into that new classroom,

secretly glancing at everyone around me and quickly realizing that: because it's a part-time program, most of the other students are older, some just by a decade, others with children my age, and all of whom are well into their careers. So, right from the start, the anxiety starts to thicken as I feel a little awkward and out of place...being one of two who stays home for a living. ;)

So now I'm sitting here asking myself -

" Becky, what were you thinking..? Just pick up your bag, and don't look back." LOL

Just as I began to second guess myself, this teddy-bear of a man next to me turned and said

"Hi, I'm Eric...I know it's really early and this is going to be a long day so I brought snacks..and lots of them. Here...have a bagel, you look hungry. And just in case you were wondering, if you hear a sqeaking noise, I promise I'm not fart...it's the chair."

LOL

okay, so writing it out and reading it makes my story a little lame,

but if only you were there...I couln't help but laugh at such an introduction.

And that was the beginning of many great intro's

My cohort is SO wonderful,

Each one of them so warmhearted and eager to know and learn fromeach other.

And the professors, I honestly dont know where to begin.

I have two professors, both of which bring a smile to my face just thinking about them.

So full of warm energy and bright faces, ready and truly eager to help us...

not just to pass the courses, but to really understand and become part of the field.

The head of the department reminds me SO much of my grandma -

full of happiness and excitement and so stinkin adorable!!

I hope you havent read this far...and if you have, I'm sorry I really have no point to this blog other than me babbling on about my "little girl" excitements!!

In the end and I guess my whole purpose of this is to say:

I am so proud to be a part of this program.

I find myself secretly counting down the days until next Monday,

where I will spend almost 13 hours with school and truly enjoy every moment of it.

The Eagle

I applied to the Master's of Social Work program at Eastern Washington University and...

I am now an Eagle. :)

We are SoOoOoO excited!!

Brian randomly found a out about a new MSW part-time program that EWU. With only a week left before the deadline, I applied...and HOORAY - our ideal, "perfect" scenario came true!!

It is a part-time program at the Spokane campus, which means I only have to make the long drive every Monday, and get to spend the rest of the week at home with the girls.

We just found out, and class starts in less than 2 wks...AHH!!!

The only down fall is the fact that Brian's busiest day is Mondays..so we will need to find a sitter for the girls until May.

Luckily, after this semester, Brian's able to work out his schooling so that he can be home every Monday.

So, Nervous? Yes, but just as excited as a little girl on her first day of school! :)

Snake River Half Marathon

I was a little nervous, seeing that we had that CRAZY snow storm a few days ago

But the weather couldn't have been better...just cool enough to keep us on our toes ;)

Even though your extra snow made our snow family look a little funny the next morning.

and yes, she has a runny nose now, but TOTALLY worth it :)

It's a Sleep Over Mommy!

Imagine waking up to this every morning

Crystal has a crazy love for her little animals...

Yes, it's a little crazy.

Almost every night before bed, we go to check on Crystal and this is what we find...a sleep over with her little animal friends, whom she loves dearly.

Notice how they're dressed in her pj's, each with their own pillow around her, & most nights, covered in her blankets while she rarely has one for herself, even on the colder nights.

"We're having a sleep over mommy" is the reply I get each morning

When I ask why she won't have a sleepover in her bed, she answers "Hehe - That'd be silly mommy"

...no arguing with that

My BeLated Valentine

Happy Valentines Day!!

Okay, so I'm a month behind for our Valentine Pics but they're worth the wait :)

Our Valentines turned into a double-day event, starting with a wonderful Sunday breakfast.

Brian explained the holiday to Crystal, as it is a day to celebrate the love we have for those around us.

We then asked her how she could show gratitude for those she loves.

First thing she said was "Love baby Abigail and share my breakfast with her"

Then she ran over to where Abby was sitting on the floor, broke her piece of toast in half, and gave some to her. I have to be honest...I couldn't resist the tears I have for the love these two angels bring to this home.

So the rest of the morning was spent doing activities that Crystal felt would show gratitude. It included sharing treats, making Valentine cards (for the 4th time hehe), and of course, dancing & singing her favorite songs from the Primary Book.

Every Valentines, Brian has a tradition of making me breakfast in bed...this year we extended this to the girls as well. Crystal and Abigail both were so excited to wake up to us bringing them little heart pancakes and getting to eat on Crystal's bed. :)

Taking a Moment to be Grateful

Tonight while Brian was out home teaching, I was catching up on old friends through their blogs. As I was doing so, I began to think of one friend in particular and the struggles they had gone through this past year.

This last spring, their 18 month old daughter fell into a canal. It wasnt until 1 1/2 miles down that an old man had found her and pulled her out. After weeks of this little girl struggling for life, her little body could take no more. As I sit here and think of the heart ache and pain this family must be going through, and yet how strong-hearted and faithful they are, I can't help but be filled with the utmost gratitude for the blessings I have received.

I've always wanted to be a mother. Sometimes I struggle and feel almost lost in how I should raise my girls, but I can honestly tell you that I have loved every single moment. To all the mom's out there, I think you're simply amazing. I don't think we realize how much time we give up, and how much we love doing what we do for our children.

I cant help but imagine how I would react if it were one of my precious girls that had fallen into that canal. It would be painful to wake up each morning to silence and not hearing little Crystal call out "mama." I would miss the long stroller walks and reading books to them. I would miss the tender moments with Crystal saying her nightly prayers right before bed with Abigail in her lap. I would even miss the tantrums thrown in public. :) I would miss everything about my girls.

How difficult would it be to lose such a precious gift and to go back being consumed with yourself, no longer focusing on your little ones?

As I sit here and ponder these thoughts, I came across this wonderful quote from Pres. Gordon B Hinckley...“I believe the Savior is telling us that unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives. Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish—and in effect save their lives.”

That's what being a mother is, it's service. That's why it brings so much joy. So tonight, when you've had a long day and your kids are on your nerves, take a moment as I have and realize how much different you would be without them.

Ice Skating

It looks so smooth and elegant. It makes me want to leap onto the ice and twist and turn like on TV. But let me tell you...it's definitely NOT as easy as they make it look!!

Month of December

So many great things happened this month, I'm really not sure where to start...so here are a few pics of our fun holiday season.

It really is so fun watching these two little ones play together - Crystal loves playing with Abby in her crib and does really well with making sure Abigail always has a little toy to play with. It's fun to listen to Crystal and the sweet things she says - Once Abigail dropped one of the little toys and Crystal picked it up and said "hehe...opps, sorry Abby - my fault. Here you go." Silly...

As for our little ginger bread house making, it turned into a baby Jesus manger full of half eaten gummies and suckers and Crystal thought it waws the coolest family activity. I mean, lots of candy and making fun houses - it doesnt get much better :)

Crystal lvoes the song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home" and loves having her daddy and Abby time when he comes home...I couldnt resist capturing on of these moments...

Our little rock star...need I say more ;)

Abigail loves her fingers and toes. Every once in a while, her toes will find her mouth and after sucking on them for a moment, she will giggle as though she was tickling herself.

We went car shopping in Spokane...couldnt resist the sweet taste of RED ROBIN!! PS - We bought our car!! I'll post more on that later :)

Every single morning, the moment Crystal wakes up, it's dress-up time. Sometimes as a rockstar or super hero, but mostly princess. It's funny because for the longest time, Brian and I really tried to stay away from the princesses...but somehoe it snuck in and took over ; ) Here are a few pics of what our mornings are like....EVERY morning for that matter...

Thanksgiving Break

For Thanksgiving break this year, we went to Shelton. It was SO fun - the first few days, it snowed almost 8 inches, which is not normal-but sure made a GREAT start of winter for Crystal. :) Everyday was spent playing in the snow...everything from eating LOTS of snow...

And herself. hehe (she grabbed a handful of snow, pushed it in her face, and laughed like she was the funniest thing ever...which she pretty much is. hehe)

Crystal loves to play "Daddy dress-up" by putting on her library backpack and pretending to walk out the door to school. This past Tuesday, Brian decided to spend the morning with us, and leave for school a little later. When Crystal noticed her daddy packing up for school, she ran for her backpack and was waiting by the door with a HUGE grin saying "Daddy, I'm ready. Time to go to school!" It was the cutest thing! Brian couldnt resist her sweet style, and ended up walking around the parking lot for a while, pretending to go to school.

Crystal's 1st Haircut

Crystal had her first hair cut last week ~ she did SO well and LOVES to watch me do her "New Hair" ever morning through the mirror.

When we told Crystal she was going to get a hair cut, she was a little nervous and unsure. But when she saw Jersh and Chantel walk through the door, she immediately changed as she jumped into her chair saying "Channy, I'm ready!" Crystal absolutely loves Jershon and Chantel and plays more with them than most adults I know....it helps that Jersh is just like a big child. :)

Afterward, Crystal told us she was a big girl now and asked if she could stay up with us. It was so cute watching her cuddle and play with her hair. Thank you Chantel!!

This morning Crystal asked if I could put curlers in her hair. It was so fun to watch her as I put them in - each time I started twisting the curler in her hair, she would start singing some "Curly-Q me hair" song.

Each time Crystal would start singing, little Abby would giggle and coo along with her. It was so fun to watch the two of them giggle together.

Halloween Run

Meet Marie ....

She had never ran before, but always wished she could. :) I started running with her about 6 weeks ago, at which time she could barely run 1/2 mile before having to stop and walk. Now dont get me wrong - running a 1/2 mile is AWESOME for any beginner ~ but the best part was that she loved it and wanted to continue training. As time went on, a few other friends joined in on our morning runs and this past weekend, we did a 4.5 mile race while a few other ladies did the 2 mile walk. The BEST part ~ they all ran the WHOLE THING!! What an AMAZING accomplishment!!

PS ~ Dont you just love our matching shirts?? :) I even made one for Crystal, who did the 2mile walk with Brian and Spencer....basically waisting time until we'd finished.

Crystal was waiting near the end and ran through the Finish line with us. :)

And to top off a great race ~ I WON a beanie!! HOORAY!!

Halloween Festivities!

I never thought I was much of a crazy celebrator with Halloween....but having a two year old who knows all about trick-or-treating and dress-up sure makes it more enticing!!

Our play group decided to do a Halloween party, and it turned out GREAT!! They started with a costume parade where the children marched around the gym in their fun costumes.

And then was filled with fun activities for the children.

It was a great way to spend our morning while Brian was at school. :)

Later in the evening we went trick-or-treating in the mall.

Crystal thought it was the greatest thing ever! Before we started, we told her each place would give her one piece of candy...so as we were trick-or-treating, anytime someone gave her more than one piece, she would take the extra pieces and give it back after saying "No Thank you!" I giggled a little inside each time. :)

Saturday Morning, we had a 4.5 mile race...and Crystal was SOOO excited when she saw our matching t-shirts. She would take her "baby spider" and put it next to my "mommy spider" and pretent to walk them across my shirt to their "home."

Later that night, we had our ward activity. Any guesses who Brian is? I'll give you a hint...Arrested Development. :) ...we had a lot of good laughs. :) ....Unfortunately...Abigail had a diaper issue in her costume...so she's the PJ Princess. ;)

After the party, Brian and I went home and watched our traditional Halloween Horror movie....the old-school, black and white "Night of the Living Dead." ....Call me pathetic, but it really did scare me. :)

On Halloween Sunday night, we let Crystal eat her candy and had a Halloween-movie-a-thon ( Halloween Dora, and Monsters Inc.) Crystal was hilarious with her candy. She had a bowl of corn with her as well, and would take one piece of candy, a handful of corn, and so on. So Cute. :)

I love you! I loved holding you in my arms as a baby as I rocked and sang you to sleep. Thank you for making your daddy and I feel so special each night as you plead for one last song, one last cuddle, and one last kiss. I look forward to you calling my name followed by your excited smile and sweet kisses every morning.

I love that you are always giggling at the little things in life, especially when I or your daddy make a mistake. Your bright eyes and little giggle always makes me smile, even when in the worst of moods. I love playing dress up with you and spinning in circles until I feel sick. Thank you for helping me to remember that its the little moments that matter.

I cherish your sincere love you have for your "Best Friend" - Abigail. Thank you for your gentleness and sweet care for her. I have never seen her as happy as when she's with you. You are most definitely "Two Best Friends."

It makes me sad when I think of how quickly you have grown, and continue to grow. I love you dear Crystal. Thank you for your faith and trust in me.

Sugar Cookies

I love the fall - there are so many fun things to celebrate!! This past week we decided to make Halloween Sugar cookies for Crystal's friends. She was SOO excited when I told her she could roll out the dough and stencil the cookies herself.

She didnt realize the cookies had to be cooked first, and I couldnt help but laugh after she put cut-out dough into her mouth and, with a confused face, said "Ewww. Mommy me no like heart cookie"

I dont like Spiderman

After breakfast every morning, the girls hop in the stroller and we go walking with ladies in our ward.
Crystal loves walking with her friends, and learns new things from them each day...for example ~ her friend Zachary LOVES Spiderman and tends to dress like him often. Crystal, not knowing who this Spiderman is, decided that she too loved him and would start running around acting as Zachary did (Super cute!!)

So last week we came home and I asked her if she wanted to see who Spiderman was. She was so excited to watch the movie...that is until it started. About 1 1/2 minutes into the cartoon, she turned to me with a scared face and said "Mommy, I dont like Spiderman. I like princesses!" Hehehe

Now every morning, she makes sure to tell Zachary "I dont like Spiderman, I like Princesses"

Corn Maze Fun!!

Over this past weekend, Brian's parents came to visit and brought Allison (our 4 yr old niece.) So on Friday night, we went to the corn maze. The girls absolutely loved it!

This was a mini maze for the girls - They did great and found the end (eventually) with grandpas help. :)

I was surprised at how brave Crystal was with running through the maze. They really seemed to enjoy running around, trying to find their own ways through the long corn.

It wasnt until it grew dark that Crystal started pointing to the EXIT sign, which she could see over the corn, and asking her daddy to take her there. :)

After the maze, the girls ate some popcorn while getting their faces painted. Little Crystal's lips were shaking from the cold, but she didnt seem to mind as she was having more than enough fun.

After the maze, we went home, read a few books with the grandparents, then brought out a mattress and let the girls stay up late and watch a movie. Crystal thought she was the luckiest girl ever!

10K Race

Brian and I have been training for a half marathon, which is this coming Saturday - HOORAY!! For part of our training, we decided to run a 10K race this past weekend.
Brian caught a nasty cold a few days before, but still wanted to run...so we made a deal. I would do the 10K and he could run the 5K with Crystal (she was SO excited to race, we couldnt resist.) Our great friend Aryssa was too excited to watch Abigail, so we left Abby home with her. :)
It was great fun...and I came in 4th place for the women with a time of 58:26. Hooray!!

We bought Crystal a fun Dinosaur water bottle for the race - she was SO excited to have a special drink. :)

Miss me mommy!!

With the weather cooling down and the sun setting sooner, Brian and I have had to change our half marathon training times....so instead of us both jogging at night (one after another), I go in the mornings and Brian at nights.
Lately the runs have been long and I usually come home to Crystal holding Abigail as they're both cuddling up to their daddy. It's so precious!!
To add to this beauty, this morning when I came home from my run, Crystal ran over, jumped into my arms wrapping her hands around my neck and, after a great big kiss said " Miss me mommy!!" (meaning "I missed you mommy") I felt like the luckiest mother - such sweet moments to remember. :)

For the past month, Crystal has loved holding her little sister. It is so precious to see the two together. When Abigail wakes from her naps, Crystal will climb into her crib, lay down and cuddle next to her, and say "Two best friends!" As Abigail is full of smiles and little laughs everytime. :)

I am SO sorry it's taken so long to update, but our computer crashed so we had to get it fixed before I could put pics on here. We had such a great summer this year ~ here are just a few pictures we took while visiting my family in Idaho.

These first few are pictures of us camping at Heise Hot springs with my parents. Crystal absolutely LOVED walking around, playing with rocks, and watching the fish swim in the river. :)

...oh...I cant forget to mention all the fun sticks there were to play with :)

Grandma and Grandpa have berry bushes in their garden, and Crystal was a little more than excited to find that she's allowed to pick and EAT these berries!!

Brian's dad and grandma happened to be passing by the same time we were visiting. It was so much fun having them visit!!
Crystal was SO excited and couldnt stop pointing out the fact that she has her "TWO grandpas"with her!! It was so fun!

This is my favorite memory....Crystal playing "play house" with her grandma. Every chance Crystal had, she was playing with this doll house with her grandma - It was priceless watching them together!

In the mornings, Crystal and grandma would go out and pick peas. Grandma would pick them, split them open, and Crystal would eat them :)

After picking peas, they shelled them together ... meaning most went to Crystal's tummy ;)

We decided to celebrate Brian and Crystals birthday while we were with family. When I took Crystal to the store to pick out her cake, she looked through all the pictures...and guess which cake she insisted on..... Frosty the Snowman. hehe Unfortunately for her, they didnt have the right tools, seeing that most people dont order Winter cakes in the middle of summer...weird I know ;) So she settled for her second favorite...Spongbob Squarepants

There's something special about Kendall - she plays the oldest cousin so well, and Crystal loves it! Anytime Kendall's around, you'll find Crystal either in her arms or at her side. July 4th ~ Blessing Abigail

Since July 4th happened to be on fast Sunday this year, we were able to both bless Abigail and celebrate our independence with family.

We decided to bless Abigail in Shelton so Brian's family could be there (they all missed out on Crystal's blessing.) and it was our last family ward. My dad was unable to get work off, so they were unable to make it, but we are grateful for the BEAUTIFUL blessing outfit they sent. Thank you!

Crystal was so excited for Abigail - it truly is a special thing, watching Crystal and Abigail together. Crystal has such a strong love for her Abby.

After church, everyone came over for the BBQ. Dad cooked up some great burger and hot dogs and everyone made great dishes! Thanks!

Seeing that it didnt get dark until almost 10:00pm, the guys went over to Grammy's yard and played football all afternoon - they seemed to have a lot of fun!

Swinging with Kelly = CrAzY fun!! Crystal has never been a big fan of swinging, until Kelly took her for a swinging ride. After that, it was over, and swinging was her new favorite thing at the grandparents home.

One morning, Crystal was laying on Brian's shoulder and grandpa came up and started scratching her back. It only took a second before she was in a trance...so funny.

One morning, Sidse took Crystal outside to play. Brian and I saw them playing together through our window and I made him run out and get pics. It was the cutest thing watching her play with and love her aunt ""Tsitsee."

Cousins Everyday!

The best part about visiting family is Crystal being able to play with cousins everyday. It's so great that everyone lives close enough to visit all together so often! We have honestly never seen Crystal more happy and excited as she was playing with her cousins. She absolutely LOVES all of them and still talks about them everyday.

It's such a beautiful thing watching Crystal with her little Abigail. She loves holding and giving kisses to her. Anytime we're feeding or burping her, Crystal likes to sit next to her and hold her hand. She is the greatest big sister we could ever ask for ~ and the best part is Abby loves having Crystal around, as Abby gives lots of little smiles to her. :)

Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere!

With things a little off this past week, Crystal's noticed more and more that she's able to get away with things she hadnt before...one of which was the bubble bath bottle. The other day while bathing, it didnt take long for us to know something was going on ...she was a little too quiet. When we walking in, we found an empty week-old bottle of bubble bath and bubbles/green bubble goo everywhere.

I have to admit, it was hilarious seeing Crystal's super excited grin as she lifted her hand full of bubbles and blew them at us.

PS ~ All these pics were taken AFTER we drained all the water out...and the bubbles are still fill over half the bath tub. :)

Well, we have a new baby girl!!! Abigail was born at 11:58 am and everything went awesome. Becky was induced today and it went super smooth, done in under 5 hours, her body sure is made for babies! Abigail was 6 lbs 7 ounces, 19.8 inches long. Other than being a little cold all day she is super healthy. But enough of me here is some pictures cause that's all you really want isn't it.

Well Becky had a follow-up appointment and it must have gone well since she is now off bed rest. Best thing ever :) Things are going good they make it sound like our baby will come early but I'm not so sure that I believe them. Anyways everything is going lots better now, only a few weeks left.

Good and Bad news -

Good : The ultra-sound went well and the baby looks healthy - hurray!

Bad :Becky went in for her reg. check-up feeling great...and the Dr. sent her to the hospital only to find out she's already dilated and was having contractions 2 minutes apart. So, after a long day of shots, monitors, and more meds, she was able to go home, with one condition -
.. .. Bed Rest!! WHAT?

So she is now officially my "Immobile Incubator" And I wont let her do anything!!! Can you imagine how she's handling this? Becky, of all people? ;) It's fun!

Should we be worried? - 34 weeks

At my last OB appointment, the Dr. told me I had a few mild signs of preterm labor, but nothing to really worry about...no biggie, just be careful - done.

Today was another appointment. I was told I'm measuring a little small, had no weight gain, and was asked to schedule an Ultra-Sound to check on things... she didnt really explain - just said it could be that I'm tall and the baby's moved toward my back, or that I'm losing amniotic fluid, and that Dr.'s worries are usually 90% wrong, but that it's good to check. I didnt think much of it until I came home and realized an ultra sounds this late isnt exactly normal ...

Should we be worried? I guess we'll find out next week :)

The BEST gift for my birthday was having my sister come visit!! It was SOOO great and it only made me wish it could happen more often!! Crystal just loved "Issha" :)

Late night fun ... Chinese foot soaking, face masks, and massages while watching "Prince Caspian"

Brian and Lisa playing games - no matter the game, Brian always seemed to win - fortunately for Lisa, the games her and I played together were definitely more even. :) Crystal tried to help out and give a little "good luck"

Hmmm.....who is this? Lisa? Wrong!! I finally decided to dye my hair back to its original color - it's CRAZY to think that my hair really is that dark after having it blonde for so long. It was SOO fun dyeing - we wish we took pics!

Thank you Lisa for spending a GREAT week with us! I couldnt ask for a greater time...okay, except for weather that wasnt 25 MPH winds and rain storms all week. :) WE LOVE YOU!!

Long Awaited Update #1

Don't you just love Brian's fun obsessions! :) Okay, so I know it's been awhile, so here's the update...speedy style :)

First, CONGRATS to Brian, who won the award in school this year - the "First Year Award" included $1000 and a fancy certificate. :) To be completely honest, we're not sure what the award stands for, but it was exciting all the same!

We have really enjoyed the many opportunities to help out the missionaries this past year. The best part of all is to see Crystal light up any and every time she sees them. Crystal absolutely LOVES the missionaries and would have them over every day if she had the choice.

Happy Easter! Easter is such a FUN holiday that we get really excited for because of the fun traditions that come with it. This year was so great because it was Crystal's first time really understanding both sides - the fun Easter Egg Hunts and Delicious Egg-Dyed Breakfasts, along with the wonderful importance and blessings that come from our Savior and His sacrifices He made for us.

Brian received a package in the mail last week.
It was everything he needed to build a new computer! HURRAY!

I dont know who was more excited....the man who called / texted me every hour to ask if the package had arrived .... and I even think he hugged the delivery man when it finally came that night ....

...the little girl who claimed the "bubbles" and "hut" as her own and spent the next two hours more excited than I think I've ever seen....

...OR Joe and Jennifer, who are in Brian's cohort and came to watch, capture, and record the putting together of his new toy.

Last weekend's weather was SO great - it was sunny and warm for spring (in the 50's) So we decided to make a date hiking the Kamiak. We had so much of fun enjoying the sun!

It FINALLY snowed!! The weather has been nice enough this year that (for the most part) we've had sun and rain this last month.
With the little snow we woke up to, Crystal and Brian went out and made a snowman. I had to leave early in their playing, but here are a few pictures of their fun.

Crystal woke up at 2:00am sick and wanting her daddy. We pulled out the hide-a-bed, put in a movie, and enjoyed the late night/early morning together.

When Brian gave her something to drink, she had to make sure that her little kitty had something to drink first, and then drank herself. She also had to give her "sick" kitty some medicine - SO CUTE!

One of the places we took our family was to hike the Kamiak Butte. Unfortunately, Crystal was sick so Becky stayed behind with her. It was absolutely gorgeous and everyone had a great time!!

Turkey Day Fun and Extra

I would have to say - I think Crystal's favorite part of our trip was Thanksgiving Day...she was able to eat ALL the olvies she wanted...and then some. From the moment she walked in the door until she left, she had a group of olives on her fingers.

It didnt help that all the cousins loved and encouraged her by making sure she was fully stocked at all times. ;)

These two pics are our cats we raised while in Shelton - the best cats in the world. They would let crystal pick them up, sit on them, etc and just purr in return.

Cider Mill

We had a lot of fun at the Cider Mill with Kevin and Chanel.

While there, we walked around the farm and were able to feed the animals. The best part was Crystal feeding the goats-priceless.

Unfortunately, the pics of her kissing them didnt come out, but I'm sure you can imagine.

She loves horses, and Brian couldn't resist.

Taylor's Birthday

Happy Birthday Tay!!

We had a GREAT time at Taylor's Birthday Party. It was great having all the family and fun friends there for her.

The cake was great-little cupcakes placed next to each other with frosted "TAYLOR" on top! Very fun!

Needless to say, Crystal loved it just as much...

if not more than most. :)
