Washington State...here we come!!

As many of you know, Brian's been accepted into the Graduate program at Washington State. HURRAY!! We plan to live there for 5 years for Brian's Ph.D. Along with Brian's acceptance, he was given a full-time assistance ship, meaning tuition is paid for, along with a $1,400 stipend each month. In turn, he will be teaching undergraduate classes 20 hrs a week...not bad!!! We are EXTREMELY excited, seeing that this was our top pick.
So...of course we had to celebrate by going to the one and only Red Robin!! Here are some pics from our celebration!!

Still Waiting...

It's so fun to read everyone's blogs and see what fun they have going on in each of their lives. As for the fun things in our lives...well...let's see, Crystal's always a bubble of joy. She's really trying to walk, and has eternal bruising from doing so. It seems that as soon as one bump starts to heal, another forms on top of it. But I guess that's how you learn...through trial and error. You know, it really amazes me to see how much joy this little girl can bring into a strangers life. Ever since she was born, she has always had a love for people, especially strangers. Anytime we go shopping, she loves to smile and talk to strangers, which in turn, puts smiles on their faces. I wish more of us could be like our children, always looking for he good in others and striving to make a difference for the better.

As for me, not a lot has changed - I pretty much hang out with our baby while Brian works and try to keep myself busy with little hobbies here and there. So...I dont really have any new pics other than this silly one that Brian took.

As for Brian, unfortunately, we haven't heard any good news concerning grad schools yet. As for both Texas and Washington State, Brian's on the alternative list, meaning if someone who was accepted into the program declines their offer, Brian will have another chance of getting in. We've been keeping in good contact with the Department Head in Washington State, so hopefully a spot will open up there. Even though it's a long and dreadful process, we're praying that things will start to look better.

At the beginning of the year, Brian was called to be the seminary teacher for the high school. It has been a lot of fun for him, but I think the early mornings and stressful days have played its toll...because he's caught a nasty cold this weekend. Good Times!! Anyway, we'll keep you updated with what happens concerning school.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Pattys Day!!! I hope everyone had as great of a day as we did. Brian and I cooked up a very Irish-Green meal for the family and had a lot of fun with it. It was a first for Brian to make corned beef and cabbage, but it was a big hit.

And I helped out with the cornbread and other side dishes. We had a great time with it.
